What can I say about Julia + Jake? They are such a wonderful couple. Julia is so vibrant and has an amazing artistic talent to music, singing and acting. Her and Jake compliment each other so very well. And did I mention, she LOVES shoes.
In addition to their e-session, I did a separate shoot just of her shoes which she then used as table numbers at the wedding. Pretty creative if you ask me.
They love black and white photography so we ensured to provide them with that and we love it! There is something about black and white images that evoke emotion, and let that moment stand still in time just beautifully.
It was a rainy day, but it didn’t matter. The couple was floating on air and their wedding party were simply a pleasure to meet.
The atmosphere was romantic, it felt like Old Hollywood; glamorous but classic. With that, I’d like to share the story behind the locket with you. You will see it in the first photo from this blog.
Julia and Jake received this locket as a gift from Jake’s parents. It had their names engraved on one side with their wedding date on the other.
To add to the romance of their day, this locket was a gift for them to take to Paris on their honeymoon. There, they would visit the “Lovers Bridge” which crosses from the left bank to the Louvre museum . There they would lock their padlock onto the chain link fence of the bridge. After locking the love padlock onto the fence, lovers toss the keys into the Seine river – a sign of their eternal devotion. How absolutely romantic.
